Any crossing of IC/OOC lines will not be tolerated. God-modding is also strictly prohibited. If you feel that someone is crossing these lines, please feel free to reach out to the mods via the dropbox.
PBs should be easily found via google search. All PBs and characters must be 18 or older. Please keep your character's age within 5 years of your PB's age. Please do not use a deceased PB. Have at least 3 icons of decent quality prior to applying. Ethnic diversity is encouraged.
Your creativity will not be restricted in any way as long as it stays within the realm of reality. Mature and triggering subjects should be treated with care only after doing proper research. You will not be censored, but please place sensitive material behind a cut with a label.
Guidelines are subject to change. Members will be notified if changes occur.
Application
You will need an IC username (no additional characters, such as x's, o's, and numbers) and backdated IC and OOC contact posts.
Each player is only allowed to have THREE characters in total. Additionally, each player can only have ONE executive position in the club.
NEW as of 2/16 - Out of fairness to other players and given limited availability, we ask that you please restrict yourself to no more than 2 members of the club out of your personal roster of three characters, so long as there is availability. This can be an officer and a patch, a patch and a prospect, or two patches.
NEW as of 2/7 - To clarify with regards to applying with a non-patch character:
If you want to bring an old lady, you will have to find an officer or patched member to join with. The exception for this will be widowed old ladies. These women will be taken care of by the club, as long as they remain loyal to the Knights.
In terms of family members, if you want to reference a current patched member of the club, we would not be able to have npc patches for the Fall River chapter since this would be a logistical problem when we need to vote on issues in game. We will need to consider a maximum number of patched members [20 total] as well as prospects [3 total] for the chapter. Our hope is this will keep the game (as an invite-only gpsl) feeling tightknit both from an ic AND ooc standpoint. You are welcome to indicate patched family members of the Knights of Hell MC in another location, including nomad. That being said, we would still want you to come in with lines established with other in-game characters.
NEW as of 4/1 - This is a MC game, about the mother charter of the Knights of Hell, so they should remain our focus. At this time, we are not accepting any additional affiliations outside of the IRA, the Boston Irish mob, and the Sinaloa cartel. With regards to playable characters connected to other chapters or other criminal organizations:
No playable patches from other charters without mod approval.
No playable characters from the IRA, the Boston Irish mob, and the Sinaloa cartel without mod approval AND the players of those already connected to those organizations to establish appropriate continuity (i.e. Aiden O'Connor & Miles Sabin for IRA; Cora Quinn & Abby Collins for Boston Irish mob; Anacelis Castillo for Sinaloa cartel).
Please provide an example of either your best narrative or scene via our dropbox. Please try to use a genre specific example, if you have it. If this is your first time playing in a MC game, then this is negotiable.
Be sure to fill out your application completely. The bio has to include at minimum 10 detailed facts or 3 detailed paragraphs. Either way, something that gives us a good idea of who your character is. Any incomplete applications or if we feel your character will not be a good fit for the community, your application will be deleted.
Activity
Activity will be tracked via the tracker. Be mindful of cut-off times to meet activity.
The activity cycle runs from the 1st of the month to the last day of the month.
Once accepted to the community, we ask that you submit an interactive post of your liking to ~fallriverma. For those accepted after the 15th, you are only required an interactive post by the end of the current activity cycle. Members are asked for the following activity every cycle:
- 1 interactive post (abandoned posts will not be accepted)
- 1 substantial update (narrative of 350 words minimum, multimedia, public scene)
To further clarify what constitutes a substantial vs an interactive post when it comes to multimedia updates, we want to see effort. For example, if you put up a single IG update for your character, that is fine; however, for it to be considered "substantial", it would have to be a post that features a mock grid of multiple IG posts. Additionally, as we are a game that encourages writing, if it is appropriate for your character to not make interactive posts you are welcome to do 2 substantial updates.
As for public scene, we will count participation in group events to be substantial. For threads to be considered for activity, there needs to be a minimum of 4 replies each from each writing partner. We are a writing-focused game. We understand that sometimes threads have to be abandoned, but we encourage people to finish their scenes and in a timely fashion whenever possible. We also understand that in this day and age of RP, some writers are more comfortable threading behind customs for privacy reasons. We do encourage people to post public scenes, so it doesn't look like the fpage isn't moving with content beyond social media posts and mini questionnaires. If you would like to use one of your private scenes for activity, please make sure you have your scene partner's permission and then make it viewable to the mod journal.
Be sure to keep your friends lists updated. In order to check this, we do not allow noembed to be used on userinfo pages. Since we are now doing adds only once a week, we expect people to run the button once a week. Friends lists should never be more than two adds out of date or you are missing out on activity from your fellow players.
NEW as of 4/1: Patched members who leave the game or are removed for inactivity are by default considered to have gone Nomad in character for story continuity, unless separate things have been worked out with remaining slps in game and approved by the mod team. If you chose to return, that member can request transfer back into the Fall River chapter after two consecutive weeks of attending Church. Patched members must attend two out of every three Church events in order to maintain active status. This means they must participate and vote by the Wednesday following the Church post.
